I design and build custom web applications, and provide technical leadership for teams building them. I work with startups, small companies, and independent practitioners on a project or contract basis.

I was previously CTO at heal.me, a startup building software for wellness practitioners. The problems below are ones I've worked on from both the leadership and engineering sides.

Fractional CTO

For startups and small teams that need senior technical judgment, but aren't ready for a full-time executive. Anywhere from a few hours a week of consulting to full ownership of the product and engineering org.

Engineering support

For teams that need another experienced engineer. This can be paired with the fractional CTO work for teams that need support in both areas. Full-stack product work. Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails, React, Typescript, Node, Postgres, MongoDB.

Independent practitioners

For one person whose work has outgrown the platform they are using.

Teaching platforms and site builders are built for the average case, which means paying every month for design constraints you didn't choose, branding that isn't yours, and a system your material is hard to get cleanly out of. A custom build costs more up front and less every month after, and it looks like your work instead of like the template.
